><p>The definition of a procurement strategy, as well as of a supply chain strategy, is a challenge: Changes in markets, technology, IT and customer requirements require a constant, fundamental adjustment of the strategy for the different business areas of a value chain. This is the only way to guarantee an optimal cost level. We call this strategy setting.<\/p>\n<h2>Definition of a procurement strategy<\/h2>\n<p>What role does the procurement or supply chain department play? Originally, the procurement function was, for example, to ensure the availability of equipment, industrial raw materials and supplies, as well as the services required for production.<\/p>\n<p>There is currently a change in thinking regarding efficient organizational structures. It is no longer primarily thought in terms of departments, but rather the overarching organizational process interlinking for efficient value creation is in the foreground. Procurement becomes more of a supply chain organization and purchasers take on new tasks. Depending on the industry and maturity level of a company, the priorities in the definition of a procurement strategy are different.<\/p>\n<h2>Importance of a Supply Chain Strategy<\/h2>\n<p>As a result of the change from a purchasing silo thinking to a comprehensive supply chain approach along the value chain, the impact of the procurement function is being reassessed: from supplier management to innovation management to CSR. The ability to develop and define a sustainable procurement strategy, taking full account of supply chain aspects, has an enormous impact on a company&#8217;s ability to grow.<\/p>\n<p>The goal is to achieve &#8222;Supply Chain Excellence&#8220; by aligning supply activities with corporate goals, efficiently designing supportive processes and sustainably optimizing costs.<\/p>\n<h2>Define and implement a strategy successfully<\/h2>\n<p>Once a procurement and\/or supply chain strategy has been defined with a view to achieving the company&#8217;s objectives, it must not be forgotten during implementation that the employees are at the centre of every change. Transparent processes, clear responsibilities and enthusiasm for change are essential project goals. Our consulting in this respect takes place at eye level with all project participants. Our goal, worked out together with the customer, is the sustainability of the new structures. As consultants, we are successful when we can give advice that is internalised by the client in a target-oriented manner.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div>\n<style type=\"text\/css\"
